A court in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Russia has required a Russian ISP block access to YouTube because the site hosted

“Russia for Russians,”

which was rated to be an extremist video.

The court’s ruling also occurs to the Internet Archive and three online libraries, Lib.rus.ec, Thelib.ru and Zhurnal.ru, all of which were dicovered to host writings by Adolf Hitler.

With this decision, Russian authorities connect a long list of authorities that have blocked access to YouTube (YouTube) at some point or another, along with China, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, Pakistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand as will as the United Arab Emirates. YouTube material has also been quashed in the U.S. and U.K.

Frequently, these prohibitions are instituted because the videos on the familiar hosting site exhibit something a authority would rather its citizens not look, from state police barbarity at a protest to unflattering depictions of its command to “immoral” or sexual content.

Nevertheless, this particular decision stems less from a desire to safeguard a country’s internal PR and more from a wish to keep Russian media — along with citizen-generated and social media — free from the maybe harmful influences of ultranationalist, racist and xenophobic speech. The phrase

“Russia for Russians”

itself is a slogan of hatred utilized against the multi-ethnic society that exists in Russia now, and searching for the phrase “Россия для русских” on YouTube will revert a number of disturbing videos typical of the white nationalist movement around the world.

But intentions aside, this judgment still constitutes what many other authorities would consider a prohibition or limitation of free speech.

The owner of Rosnet, the ISP predisposed by today’s ruling, is Aleksandr Ermakov. He spoke to media now, saying basically that the court had thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

“All of mankind is using this website. And providers like ours do not violate Russian law. But we are still being forced to close the website so that our users can not log on and watch the videos. This is absurd! According to this logic, we have to demolish all buildings that have swastikas on the walls. Or when two people are discussing a bomb over the phone, we have to take away the phones from all people across Russia.”

More on Rosnet’s valid position can be dicovered at this website.

In fact, a Google (Google) rep told the Moscow Times,

“To limit access of Rosnet users to the whole YouTube.com site, not to a particular video, breaches the right for freedom of information, guaranteed by Article 29 of Russia’s Constitution.”

There is a widespread feeling that Windows Phone 7 will need 5 hardware push buttons, but it seems as though a 6th one has stocked overnight. The ones that we already know are the Beginning, Back, Search Bing, camera and powerfulness pushes, alongside a loudness (up and down) push which has been listed as compulsory by Microsoft. The loudness push button will work in a similar personal manner as with other french telephones, where you can use it to adjust the overall volume whether in-game, during a conversation or playing some music. We will just need to hold back until the end of the yr comes when the first Windows Phone 7 devices will get to roll out by then. push buttons might seem a tad too many for a smartphone with a full touchscreen video display.

Video game accessories and CTA, could be two things that are no strange in our ear. And this is the latest product that will makes you to be hardcore gamer, the Assault Rifle PlayStation 3 controller (image beside).

This awesome PlayStation 3 controller will cost you $65 and will meet you some time in August. As like the description, you will find all of the buttons that you usually met on a traditional SIXAXIS controller. But this fake assault rifle will give you easier to control your character to kick the enemies out with the R1 shoulder button mapped to the trigger on this controller.

Watch the video below to see the trial of this awesome riffle on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And $65 for this Assault Rifle PlayStation 3 controller? I’m sure it’s reasonable.

With their Chrome web browser, Google has continually been concerned with speed. And now they are speeding up another aspect of it: how often stable constructs are launched. The purpose now is to launch a new stable version of the browser every six weeks — concerning twice as fast as they presently do, Google says. In other words, find ready for Chrome 6, 7, 8, and 9 coming soon.

So why is Google doing this? Because they are making new features so quickly and they wish to make sure all users find them as fast as probable. These quick iterations also will permit Google to have more firmly set schedules for Chrome. And as a outcome, project managers will be able to set realistic goals for sum of work that can be done by a certain time.

But the most substantial thing that Google emphasizes may be the easing of pressure off of their engineering team. Under the old, longer launch model, engineers would be pressured into trying to finish new features before a deadline or risk having them cut and not showing up for months. With the new launch schedule, even if something is not ready to go in one launch, it will only be six weeks until it creates the next one.

Google is also trying to understate the rapid iteration of versions that will be coming:

Since we are going to continue to increment our major versions with every new release (i.e. 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0) those numbers will start to move a little faster than before. Please don’t read too much into the pace of version number changes – they just mean we are moving through release cycles and we are geared up to get fresher releases into your hands!

Google does not that this six week cycle is

“running under ideal conditions,”

so it’s probable it may slip from time to time. Still, it is pretty exciting how fast they will be iterating now. And even if the version numbers do not mean much, the other browsers are going to have to create sure their users find out that, or it may look like Chrome is running laps around them.Google does not that this six week cycle is “running under ideal conditions,” so it’s probable it may slip from time to time.

It seems like Samsung’s 3D Blu-ray players are not the only ones coming in cheaper version, as it is released the new 680 Series and 490 Series plasma HDTVs. The two of them were shown off in Korea yesterday, even though the US website only features a product page for the 50-inch PN50C680 at this time, showing off its 1080p and access for DLNA. You will be presented a few features from higher end plasmas, which add, widgets, picture-in-picture, more contrast ratio and it has slimmer designs. On the other hand the PN50C490′s situation is a bit murkier, but some source reports it will be the first 720p 3DTV of the current generation. With another series 4 plasmas retailing set about $720, and it could be the first 3D set to reach the $1000 barrier.

Update news: PN50C490 is listing on ABC Warehouse shows a few specs plus $1,099 MSRP, but for preorder its just $989. Its perfect for some PS3 gaming or ESPN3D show. As some related news that you can get a 60-inch 1080p projection 3D capable HDTV from Mitsubishi for even less.

“Nο Software Fix Fοr iPhone 4 Antenna Issue” That’s Apple prοmises. If it was nοt οbviοus enοugh frοm Apple’s agitated respοnse tο οur questiοn during tοday’s iPhone 4 Q&A session in Cupertinο, there is nο software fix in the pipeline fοr the antenna issues that are plaguing users tοday.

A priοr repοrt in the New York Times seemed even-handedly cοnfident that the trοubles cοuld and alsο wοuld be solved in the near term by a simple software update, but the cοmpany’s οwn Scott Forstall called said repοrt patently false.

Well, there yοu have it the οnly thing that will be fixed via software is hοw big yοur smallest bar οf signal is.

Beyοnd that, yοu will need tο grab sοme Duct tape, a free case οr a white glοve if yοu are lοοking tο avοid attenuation entirely.
