Google’s operating system Chrome OS, initially promulgated in July 2009, and finally will debut this autumn. There are still lots of unknowns regarding the OS, however we see that it will be a free operating system based on the Chrome browser, targeted at netbooks as well as created to operate with web applications.
“We are working on bringing the device later this fall,”
Google’s Vice President of Product Management Sundar Pichai told at CompuTex.
“It’s something which we are very excited by … We expect it to reach millions of users on day one,”
he said.
Given Google’s extensive effect and Chrome’s (Chrome) increasing share of the market, it will achieve a big number of users, yet how many of them will select to really use it as their main OS? Endorsement from hardware manufacturers would certainly assist, as well as judging by several early reports, Chrome OS won’t go ignored.
